The New Kids In Town

Say hello to a number of new businesses in Agnes Water/1770


The past year has been a strange one with many changes for many people.

Here in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, the past 12 months have brought us quite a few new businesses and a bit of art. Something new and exciting for our little town(s).


1. 1770 GELATO CO

What is a seaside holiday town without an ice cream shop?! No more! We have one!

A brand new gelato shop has opened up in the centre of Agnes Water.

They serve more than 30 flavours of premium gelato made with local milk, including vegan options.

You can find the 1770 Gelato shop on the corner of Captain Cook Drive and Round Hill Road - opposite the Caltex servo.

2. ROUND HILL ROAD PIZZA/BAR

Also located in the heart of Agnes Water, at Endeavour Plaza, is a new pizza place. Dine in or takeout - your choice. And the choice is difficult with more than a dozen different pizzas (including gluten free options) to choose from. Hand made dough, fresh ingredients and a great location have the locals already loving this place.

3. KATRINA'S BAR

Brand new to the Town of 1770 is Katrina’s Bar at the 1770 Marina. Enjoy a cocktail, wine or cold beer with views over the 1770 Marina. The perfect place for a sunset drink or two. You can also try a cheese platter or grab some tasty fish and chips from the Rusty Pelican next door.

4. CORAL SEA SEAFOOD & TAKEAWAY

A delicious grilled fish takeaway at Coral Sea seafood

At Coral Sea Seafood you can buy your fresh, local seafood or simply have it cooked and ready to eat. A seafood shop and fish’n chips takeaway in one convenient location.

You can find them in Endeavour Plaza next door to the Rock shop and the Agnes Water Beach club,



5. STUART MCKAY ART GALLERY

Located upstairs at the 1770 Marina is the newest art gallery to town. It is a photographic gallery featuring Stuart McKay, a visual storyteller based in 1770. You can simply enjoy Stuart's art or even purchase a piece or two and take a little bit of Agnes Water & 1770 magic home with you.

6. AGNES WATER BUTCHERY

While we have had a butcher in town before, these guys are new. Located at Endeavour Plaza near the Friendly Grocer.

Whether you just buy a bone for your furry friend or a butchery pack for your holidays, be sure to call in and see the friendly team.



7. DRIFTIN' COCONUT GENERAL STORE

Another new addition at the 1770 Marina, and a very handy place for those staging in 1770. The Driftin' Coconut is a little store that has all your essentials and that milk and bread you forgot to buy but also ice cream and pies.



8. POLE ART TRAIL

Not a new business as such but a wonderful new addition to Agnes Water/1770 is a series of painted power poles. A group of artists got together and with Energy Queensland's permission, painted and beautified 127 power poles throughout the town. You can read a bit more about how this all came together here:

9. OCEAN THERAPY MASSAGE

Another new business at the 1770 Marina. Enjoy a relaxing massage, facial and other treatments at Ocean Therapy, located upstairs at the Marina.



10. 1770 ON YOUR BOAT ADVENTURES

Are you a first time boatie? New to the area? Wanting to expand your boating and fishing skills? This new business run by local Cameron, will help you with boat launch and retrieval,

Creek navigation and bar crossing, where to go fishing and more.



11. HERE AND THERE ESPRESSO

A new mobile coffee van currently located next to Agnes Palms/Beachside YHA on Captain Cook Drive.

Open from 6:30am and dog friendly, Here and There Espresso serve coffees, milkshakes and more. Keep up with their location on their Facebook page.



12. COASTAL RUSH POPUP PICNICS

Coastal Rush specialises in making a memorable experience for 2 to 25 people to enjoy. They take care of all the planning, suggested locations, set up and clean up so you don't have to organise a thing. The perfect way to top off your holiday or to celebrate a special occasion.
