This relaxed, approximately two-hour tour is designed especially for families with children aged 4–12. No kayaking experience is needed. You need to be comfortable around water and able to get in and out of the kayak; moderate fitness is recommended. Contact us before booking about fitness, back, shoulder, hip, injury or mobility concerns. If there are no children aged 4–12 in your group, please choose our Nature or Sunset Tour instead.

Children paddle with an adult, with at least one adult for every two children. We use double and triple kayaks depending on your family group. Maximum weights are 120 kg per person and 190 kg per double kayak. A parent or guardian must complete the waiver for anyone under 18.

Your tour includes an experienced guide, all kayaking equipment and safety gear, bird and marine-life ID slates, morning tea with homemade biscuits, tea/coffee and juice, and free tour photos.Bring a bottle of water each, a sunhat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear swimwear or clothes that can get wet. The Family Tour only runs when conditions are suitable for young children. Routes and stops change with wind and tides. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, and fish feeding depends on conditions.If we cancel the tour, you receive a 100% refund. Customer cancellations within 48 hours of departure incur a 100% cancellation fee.
