Are the kayaks sit-on-top or sit-in?
We use stable, double sit-on-top kayaks.
Are life jackets and equipment provided?
Yes. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets and safety equipment are included.
Can I paddle in a single kayak on the tour if I want to?
We used double kayaks and we only use a single kayak if there is an uneven number of participants.
Can kids paddle a single kayak?
Short answer: no. But...Due to tides/currents and the size of our single kayaks, we do not let children paddle a single kayak. For older kids, it can be arranged but it would depend on their size/ability as well as the conditions on the day. In general, the minimum age to paddle a single kayak is 14, but in reality it will depend on the conditions on the day.
Do many people fall out of the kayak?
Not many, no. We use quality, stable kayaks but it's not impossible to tip them and fall out. Generally, the more weight is in the kayak, the easier they tip over. But it really doesn't happen very often.
