The Town of 1770 (or “Seventeen Seventy“, or just “1770“) and its twin town Agnes Water (sometimes called Agnes Waters), sit midway between Bundaberg and Gladstone. Captain James Cook was the first to discover the magnificent beauty of this place, making landfall for the first time, in what was to become Queensland, in the year…..?????

It still is a bit of a secret spot, although fast becoming more and more popular with families, couples, grey nomads and backpackers alike. The Town of 1770/Agnes Water is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, a perfect coastal vacation spot with plenty of avtivities and accommodation styles to choose from.
